For Spring 2016 the Maple Society is planning a visit to a number of leading botanical gardens and arboreta in Poland. Full details are still being finalised, however travel between each area will be as a group by coach and lunch is expected to be pre-arranged to simplify the schedule. Further details will be posted here as they are available.

Maple Study Days - 18th and 19th June 2016

This event is being hosted by Westonbirt, the National Arboretum and by The Maple Society. On the 18th we shall be at Westonbirt home to one of the best maple collections in the world. The 19th will be a less formal event spending the morning at Batsford Arboretum looking at some of the rare maples that Westonbirt does not grow. It is aimed at anyone interested in maples and is for both the expert and those that just wish to know more about this very important group of plants. The main focus will be the various species, rather than cultivars.

The AGM and Autumn weekend will take place on 17/18 October 2015.
We will be visiting The Savill and Valley Garden on Saturday 17th October - Both these gardens are very rich in interesting and rare plants too numerous to mention. Both also have good collections of Maples. It will be a fabulous day and one not to be missed if you can help it. .

Then we will visit the garden at Painshill on Sunday 18th October - In 1981, Painshill Park Trust, a registered charity was formed to restore the 18th century landscape garden which was originally created by the Honourable Charles Hamilton between 1738 and 1773.

Members and non-members are welcome to join us visiting the gardens (members only for the AGM).
The AGM will take place during lunch on Saturday 17th.
