Spring 2015 - visit to Argyll region, Scotland

The centrepiece of the Maple Society’s late spring meeting will be a day at Benmore Botanic Garden on Saturday 16th May. Taking a leaf out of the Wespelaar experience this will include a lecture by Peter Baxter, Curator at Benmore, on Acers within the garden, recent introductions and plant hunting in Japan, followed by an exploration of the collections on the ground. It is proposed that in the evening we get together at a local restaurant for dinner.

The meeting will start on Friday afternoon 15th May when the party will meet at Kilmun Arboretum, close to Benmore. The final day will be Sunday 17th May, and Ardkinglas Woodland Garden will be visited en-route to our second garden visit of the day at Glenarn in Rhu, near Helensburgh.
